QUESTION: My flight for another country is scheduled during the quarantine. What should I do?
ANSWER: Don’t worry, OFWs can now depart anytime during the lockdown. But make sure you contact your airline to check whether your flight was cancelled or not. We also advise you to make extra preparations for travelling from your home to the airport.
Q: How can I get to the airport if there’s no public transportation?
A: The DOTr still allows people with departing flights to travel with one (1) companion, so you can still get a ride to the airport. Just make the person you’re travelling with has a copy of your ticket because the authorities will need to see that as his/her “proof of conveyance”
Q: I’m scheduled to go home via NAIA during the quarantine. Should I reschedule? Book another flight? Stay here in my host country?
A: No need to do any of those. You can enter the country anytime during the quarantine. But if you’re coming from Italy or Iran, please be advised that you need to have a medical certificate attesting that you are healthy and COVID-free. That document also has to be certified as true by the Philippine embassy in your country.
