Magsaysay People Resources Corporation (MPRC) was honored at the Seatrade Maritime Awards Asia 2019 with the Education & Training Award. The accolade recognized MPRC’s commitment in people development through investment in new and state-of-the-art facilities and innovative training programs.
For over 30 years, MPRC training programs and services have focused on the globalized labor of the maritime industry allowing seafarers to re-skill, take on quality jobs, and enhance their employability as trade becomes more globally integrated and complex. Through people development, MPRC aims to address the challenges and gaps faced by the industry today: an adequate supply of maritime professionals to keep up with the ever-expanding global fleets and the proper training to keep them abreast with the continued advancements in on-board technology. The company's training arms include Magsaysay Learning Resources, Inc., Magsaysay Institute of Shipping, MOL Magsaysay Maritime Academy and Magsaysay Center for Hospitality and Culinary Arts.
The award was received by Alexander Querol, President of Magsaysay Learning and Arnold Javier, President of Magsaysay Maritime Corporation during a spectacular presentation ceremony held last June 28 at the InterContinental Hotel, Kowloon, Hong Kong.
"We are extremely honored,” Arnold Javier shared, on behalf of the team, "and would like to receive this award with humility on behalf of the amazing men and women who constitute Magsaysay People Resource Corporation”.
The Magsaysay management team together with its partners and principals were also present at the event.
Other finalists in the same category include DNV GL Singapore Pte. Ltd., Singapore Maritime Academy, and The Shipping Corporation of India. Seatrade Maritime Awards Asia, the region’s most critical maritime award programme, is held annually to celebrate and recognize inspiring industry peers for their extraordinary efforts and contributions towards the maritime industry.
