Magsaysay Maritime Corporation (MMC), in cooperation with Homer Foundation, Inc. and Magsaysay Multipurpose Cooperative (MAGCOOP), held its first Magsaysay Family Forum on June 8, 2019 at the Robert Hall, Times Plaza Building, Manila.
Themed as “Building a Strong Foundation”, the 1-day event is designed for MMC seafarers and their families to learn how to set long-term family goals, build positive mental attitude, manage finances properly and be aware of their legal rights. Attended by over 100 families, the participants were warmly welcomed by MMC’s Marlon Roño, Executive Chairman, and Arnold Javier, President, who shared their life experiences and emphasized the importance of having a strong family relationship. A live stream of the event was also facilitated to reach and engage more seafarers and families.
In keeping with the company’s value of We Care, MMC is keen to make this family forum an annual event in order to inspire, motivate and engage the seafarers to have a holistic and healthy quality of life–physically, socially, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
The event was organized by MMC’s Crew and Family Engagement Department who plays a key role in providing seafarers and their families with assistance in various areas of personal and social development.
