Magsaysay Maritime Corporation (MMC) officially opened its new office in Iloilo City last April 14, 2018. The expansion was driven by Magsaysay’s commitment to provide employment opportunities in the Western Visayas region and bring MMC’s crew management services closer to the seafarers and families in the region. The Iloilo office blessing was graced by MMC’s Marlon Roño, Executive Chairman, and Arnold Javier, President.
A series of Magsaysay Updates and MAGCOOP General Assembly events were also held across MMC branches. The first leg was held last April 7 at Sarrosa International Hotel and Residential Suites in Cebu City; second leg was held last April 8 at Davao Convention and Trade Center in Davao City; and the third and fourth legs were held last April 14 at MMC Iloilo Office, John Tan Building in Iloilo City and Planta Centro Bacolod Hotel and Residences in Bacolod City respectively. The events were spearheaded by the Magsaysay Multipurpose Cooperative (MAGCOOP) in coordination with MMC. For Manila, the event is scheduled on April 27 at Robert Hall, Times Plaza Building in Ermita, Manila.
Attended by a total of 838 crew and allottees, these gatherings gave vacationing officers, crew members and their families a chance to bond together and enjoy good fellowship. Joselito Navales, Cluster HR Director; Julie Anne Dela Cruz, Operations Manager for Shared Services; Alfonso Pablo Jr., Head of Crew and Family Engagement; Marilyn Pacete, Manager of Crew and Family Engagement; Michael Escueta, Branch Manager of MMC Cebu; Annaliza Claveria, Branch Manager of MMC Davao; Myra Hingpit, Regional Manager of Western Visayas; Hiyas Kristine Homena, Sourcing and Placement Specialist of Western Visayas; and Rommel Villasfer, Operations Manager of MAGCOOP.
