For Magsaysay Maritime Corporation (MMC), the key driver for the company’s success is the Magsaysay People — employees, officers, crew members, and their families. Through our Crew and Family Days, MMC celebrates being together and awards the loyalty, commitment and pride the Magsaysay seafarers have demonstrated to the company.
A total of 1,073 MPs in the Visayas region had a grand and merry time as MMC celebrated its annual Crew and Family Day last October 19 at Casino Español in Cebu, November 16 at Grand Xing Imperial Hotel in Iloilo City, and November 17 at L’Fisher Hotel in Bacolod City.
MMC Executive Chairman Marlon Roño and MMC President Arnold Javier shared inspiring messages and expressed Magsaysay’s commitment to build a strong and connected community between the management team, employees, crew members, and their families. During the event, MMC management team also welcomed new crew members and honored outstanding seafarers who have served the company for long years. A short video was presented by MMC President Arnold Javier highlighting this year’s milestones.
Moreover, participants of Magsaysay’s jingle making contest “Himig Marino Ngayong Pasko”, serenaded and entertained the crowd where they performed and showcased their original compositions and musical talents.
The celebrations were spearheaded by MMC’s Julie Anne Dela Cruz, Operations Manager; Alfonso Pablo Jr., Crew and Family Engagement Head; Marilyn Pacete, Crew and Family Engagement Manager; Dwight Jeriko Peren, Branch Manager of MMC Cebu, and Myra Hingpit, Regional Manager of MMC Western Visayas.
Because of a series of strong earthquakes that hit the province of Davao, MMC management team decided to organize an outreach program. Burning with the "We Care" spirit, Magsaysay volunteers came together on November 8 and 9 to send assistance to the affected seafarers and their families in Kidapawan City and Makilala in North Cotabato and Bansalan and Digos City in Davao del Sur.
